Regular Season Round 19: Corio Bay S. - Ringwood H. 64-123

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Ringwood Hawks (15-4) crushed 11th ranked Stingrays (4-13) in Geelong 123-64 on Saturday. Ringwood Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Stingrays' 26. They outrebounded Stingrays 42-21 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ringwood Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Stingrays' players. It was a very good performance for American guard Jacob Gibson (198-93, college: Harding) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!). His fellow American import forward Mike McCahey (196, college: St.Anselm) contributed with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Ringwood Hawks players scored in double figures. American power forward Jordan Latham (206-91, college: Loyola, MD) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and guard Joel Mcfall (189-94) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Stingrays. Ringwood Hawks moved-up to second place in League. Loser Stingrays keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Ringwood Hawks will face Whittlesea City (#12) in Mill Park in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stingrays will play on the road against Diamond Valley Eagles in Greensborough and hope to win that game.
