Regular Season Round 21: Cimarrones - Academia 104-67

The game between Top Four teams took place in Quibdo-Choco. Third ranked host Cimarrones (10-7) smashed second-best Academia (13-8) 104-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Academia. Cimarrones shot 60.8 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Cimarrones especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. The former international center John Hernandez (207-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and American swingman Amir Carraway (198-91, college: Chico St.) chipped in 24 points. The best for the losing side was Puerto Rican guard Gary Diaz (193-92) with 19 points and the former international point guard Simon Granados (182-93) scored 11 points and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cimarrones maintains third place with 10-7 record having ten points less than leader Fast Break. Defending champion Academia keeps the second position with eight games lost. Cimarrones are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Academia in Montana in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Academia will have a break next round.
