Hume City Broncos dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 38. Hume City Broncos forced 22 Sharks turnovers. Strangely Sharks outrebounded Hume City Broncos 43-30 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Sharks' players. The best player for the winners was American forward Colleen Planeta (188-88, college: Point Loma) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Mua Laloifi chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Four Hume City Broncos players scored in double figures. American point guard Brittany Carter (183-93, college: Illinois) produced 24 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and Innika Hodgson added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Hume City Broncos moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Sharks keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Hume City Broncos will face higher ranked Falcons (#3) in Mount Waverley in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sharks will play on the road against Wildcats (#7) in Eltham and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
