We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Melbourne where 5th ranked Hobart Chargers (8-9) were edged by sixth ranked Tigers (5-12) 83-80 on Saturday. Tigers forced 22 Hobart Chargers turnovers. Strangely Hobart Chargers outrebounded Tigers 44-27 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Tigers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Monique Conti (165-99) who scored 22 points and 9 assists. Naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Tigers players scored in double figures. American swingman Kathleen Scheer (187-89, college: Duke) produced 27 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Mikaela Ruef (190-90, college: Stanford) added 12 points and 17 rebounds respectively for the guests. Tigers maintains sixth place in League with 5-12 record which they share with defeated Hobart Chargers. Loser Hobart Chargers dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Tigers will have a break next round.
