No shocking result in a game when leader Brisbane Spartans (12-0) defeated at home 4th placed Flames (7-4) 87-76 on Sunday. Brisbane Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was New Zealand forward Natalie Taylor (182-84, college: SE Missouri St.) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Mia Murray (184-88) produced 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Darcy Garbin (185-94) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Brisbane Spartans and four Flames players scored in double figures. Brisbane Spartans maintains first place in League with 12-0 record. Loser Flames keep the fourth position with four games lost. Brisbane Spartans will face Rollers (#13) in Gold Coast in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Flames will play at home against Meteorettes (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
