Regular Season Round 17: Forestville E. - Southern T. 61-90

Rather predictable result in Goodwood where second ranked Tigers (13-3) outscored 5th ranked Eagles (9-7) 90-61 on Sunday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles' 38 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Tigers forced 28 Eagles turnovers. Eagles were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Raynisha Washington (175-92, college: Northeastern JC) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Denelle Fawcett chipped in 19 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Five Tigers players scored in double figures. Forward Olivia Thompson (185-93) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds and Juliet Gordon added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers maintains second place in League with 13-3 record behind leader Knox R. Loser Eagles dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Tigers will face Rockets (#3) in Adelaide in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Eagles will play at home against Bearcats and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
