Regular Season Round 19: Hume City - Eltham W. 73-104

Very expected game when 10th ranked Hume City Broncos (5-13) were smashed by fourth ranked Eltham Wildcats (14-4) in Tullamarine 104-73 on Sunday. Eltham Wildcats dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Hume City Broncos' 40. They outrebounded Hume City Broncos 58-36 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Eltham Wildcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hume City Broncos' players. It was a very good performance for power forward Chris Cameron (210-82, college: La-Lafayette) who helped to win the game recording 41 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Luke Valentine contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized British guard Lee Jeka (193-83) answered with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Mike Rose (193-87, college: E.Kentucky) added 20 points in the effort for Hume City Broncos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Eltham Wildcats maintains fourth place in League with 14-4 record. Loser Hume City Broncos keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Eltham Wildcats will face Diamond Valley Eagles (#8) in Greensborough in the next round. Hume City Broncos will play on the road against Waverley Falcons in Mount Waverley and hope to win that game.
