Regular Season Round 7: Dongbu - Beijing 72-101

Bottom-ranked Dongbu is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to tenth ranked Beijing (3-4) 101-72. The game without a history. Beijing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Dongbu's 36. They outrebounded Dongbu 50-34 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Michael Holyfield (211-92, college: Sam Houston St.) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 27 rebounds for the winners. Chentao Zhang chipped in 8 points and 6 assists. Point guard Tujun Shen (185-92) produced 16 points and 4 assists and guard Qin Yang (195-88) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beijing maintains tenth place with 3-4 record, which they share with Hebei X. and Chongqing. Dongbu at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Beijing's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hunan (#8) in Changsha and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dongbu will play on the road against Anhui (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
