Regular Season Round 7: Jiangsu L. - Anhui 101-120
Date: July 9, 2017
No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Anhui (4-3) crushed 13th ranked Jiangsu L. (1-6) in He Fei 120-101 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Anhui. Jiangsu L. was better in fourth quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Anhui forced 21 Jiangsu L. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 18 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) contributed with 38 points (!!!) and 7 assists for the winners. Forward MingYang Gao (196-88) answered with 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Palestinian forward Michael Nunnally (203-86, college: Pacific) added 21 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Jiangsu L.Four Anhui and five Jiangsu L. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anhui moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Jiangsu L. keeps the thirteenth position with six games lost. Anhui will face bottom-ranked Dongbu (#14) in Nanjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jiangsu L. will play on the road against Chongqing in Lanling and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
