Regular Season Round 7: Chongqing - Fujian 128-122

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Fujian (5-2) in Lanling on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by eleventh ranked Chongqing (3-4) 128-122. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fujian. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fujian won third quarter 34-33. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chongqing dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian's 58. They outrebounded Fujian 53-32 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Xin Wang contributed with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-92, college: Ohio St.) answered with 31 points and 9 rebounds and Ivorian-French point guard Mouloukou-Souleyman Diabate (181-87) added 29 points and 6 assists in the effort for Fujian. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fujian's coach Jiulong Liu rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Chongqing moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hebei X. and Beijing. Fujian at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Henan and Guizhou. Chongqing is looking forward to face Jiangsu L. (#13) in He Fei in the next round. Fujian will play on the road against Shaanxi W. (#4) in Xian and is hoping to win this game.
