Very expected game when 9th ranked Central District Lions (2-13) lost to fourth ranked West Adelaide Bearcats (10-6) in Gawler 75-88 on Sunday. West Adelaide Bearcats had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Central District Lions were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Dee Oldham (193-94, college: Chattanooga) who helped to win the game recording 46 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Guard Patrick Thomas (190, college: Mary) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. West Adelaide Bearcats' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard David Humphries (193-91, college: Loyola Mary) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Ricardo Martin (203-92, college: Lander) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Central District Lions. West Adelaide Bearcats moved-up to third place in League. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. West Adelaide Bearcats will face Forestville Eagles (#6) in Goodwood in the next round. Central District Lions will play on the road against Woodville Warriors in Flinders Park and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
