Regular Season Round 19: Sturt S. - Woodville W. 85-55

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Woodville Warriors (6-10) were outleveled by sixth ranked Sturt Sabres (10-6) in Pasadena 85-55 on Sunday. Sturt Sabres had a 37-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for guard Sam Daly (193-95, college: Chaminade) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 assists. Forward Jacob Rigoni (198-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Alex Maiorana answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and center Daniel Carlin (206-93, college: Westmont) added 11 points in the effort for Woodville Warriors. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sturt Sabres moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Woodville Warriors keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Sturt Sabres will face higher ranked Norwood Flames (#4) in Marden in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Woodville Warriors will play at home against Central District Lions (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
