A very close game took place in Runcorn between South West Metro Pirates and Brisbane Capitals. Sixth ranked South West Metro Pirates (7-5) got a very close home victory over much higher ranked Brisbane Capitals (8-2). South West Metro Pirates managed to escape with a 2-point win 95-93 on Sunday evening. South West Metro Pirates looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Tanner McGrew (203-93, college: W.Virg.Wesl., agency: Duran International) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Jake Allen (193, college: Avila) accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Naturalized American forward Dusty Rychart (201-78, college: Minnesota) came up with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Nigerian guard Princeton Onwas (198-93, college: San Jose St.) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Brisbane Capitals in the defeat. Four South West Metro Pirates and five Brisbane Capitals players scored in double figures. South West Metro Pirates maintains sixth place in League with 7-5 record. Loser Brisbane Capitals keep the second position with two games lost. South West Metro Pirates will meet at home Ipswich Force (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Brisbane Capitals will play against Sunshine CR (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
