Regular Season Round 8: Anhui - Dongbu 135-90

Bottom-ranked Dongbu (0-8) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to sixth ranked Anhui (5-3) 135-90 on Wednesday evening. The game without a history. Anhui led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Anhui outrebounded Dongbu 45-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Jian Li chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Anhui's coach Yong Zhang felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. Guard Yi Jiang (195-93) produced 26 points and forward Boyin Sui (202-95) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Anhui moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Dongbu still closes the standings with eight games lost. Anhui will meet Beijing (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dongbu will play against Chongqing and hopes to get finally their first victory.
