Regular Season Round 8: Shaanxi W. - Fujian 109-102

There was a change at the NBL leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Fujian (5-3). They were defeated by fourth ranked Shaanxi W. (5-3) 109-102 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 109-102. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and the other American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) who added 26 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Shaanxi W.'s coach ZhengXiu Jiang used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-92, college: Ohio St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and Ivorian-French point guard Mouloukou-Souleyman Diabate (181-87) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shaanxi W. moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Fujian. Fujian will play next round against Hebei X. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Shaanxi W. will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Jiangsu L. in He Fei.
