Regular Season Round 11: Tabare - Colon 70-65
Date: July 12, 2017
Very expected game when 12th ranked Colon (2-9) was defeated on the road by third ranked Tabare (7-3) 70-65 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a great evening for American forward Charles McCann (193, college: LIU Post) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Emiliano Serres (205-97) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Tabare's coach Carlos Barrios used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Federico Della-Mea (187-92) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Tirrell Brown (198-93, college: Ouachita Baptist) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Colon players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tabare. They maintain third place with 7-3 record having just one point less than leader Sayago. Colon at the other side keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. Tabare will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Colon will play on the road against the league's leader Sayago (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
