Regular Season Round 9: Shaanxi W. - Jiangsu L. 114-92

No shocking result in a game in Xian where third ranked Shaanxi W. (6-3) smashed 13th ranked Jiangsu L. (1-8) 114-92 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Shaanxi W.. Jiangsu L. was better in fourth quarter 24-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shaanxi W. forced 24 Jiangsu L. turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) who scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Five Shaanxi W. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Palestinian forward Michael Nunnally (203-86, college: Pacific) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and forward MingYang Gao (196-88) added 23 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shaanxi W. moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Jiangsu L. lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Shaanxi W. will face bottom-ranked Dongbu (#14) in Nanjin in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Jiangsu L. will play on the road against Hebei X. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
