Regular Season Round 12: Marne - Stockolmo 89-82

Bottom-ranked Marne managed to get a second victory, breaking the five-game losing streak. This time they won against eighth-ranked Stockolmo in Montevideo 89-82. It was a great shooting night for Marne especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Stockolmo was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Miami Dade CC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Leandro Blazina contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. McNeal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Marne players scored in double figures. Forward Octavio Medina (195-96) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Juan Viana (189-97) added 20 points in the effort for Stockolmo. Marne maintains thirteenth position with 2-7 record. Stockolmo at the other side dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with U Atletica. Marne's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Union Atletica.
