There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Tigers (6-12) outleveled on the road 4th ranked Geelong Supercats (12-9) 100-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-72. Strangely Geelong Supercats outrebounded Tigers 49-31 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ari Stewart (200-90, college: USC) who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized British guard Daryl Corletto (193-81) who added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The former international swingman Nathan Herbert (192-84) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: Sam Houston St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Tigers maintains sixth position in League with 6-12 record. Loser Geelong Supercats keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Tigers will face BA CoE (#8) in the next round. Geelong Supercats will play against Sabres (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
