Regular Season Round 20: Mandurah M. - East Perth E. 122-129

Date: July 15, 2017
Not a big story in a game in Mandurah where 14th ranked Magic (4-18) was defeated by eleventh ranked Eagles (8-16) 129-122 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 129-122. Eagles shot 30 for 43 from the free-throw line, while Magic only scored fourteen points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Eagles especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. Magic was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Mason Bragg (182-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) who added 31 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Eagles players scored in double figures. American forward Taylor Mullenax (200-86, college: St.Edward's) responded with 31 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Will McNeill (185-90, college: Washburn) scored 27 points and 8 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Eagles maintains eleventh position in League with 8-16 record. Loser Magic keeps the fourteenth place with 18 games lost. Eagles will face higher ranked Cougars (#6) in Hamilton Hill in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Magic will play at home against Giants (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
