Very important is a road loss of third ranked Buccaneers (17-6) against sixth ranked Redbacks (14-11) on Saturday night. Visiting Buccaneers were defeated by Redbacks in a tough game in Northbridge 90-96. Buccaneers were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 49-41 second half run of Redbacks. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Redbacks' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Jackson Hussey (190-92, college: Pikeville) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists and American forward Maurice Barrow (196-92, college: Fairfield) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Buccaneers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Redbacks moved-up to fifth place in League. Buccaneers at the other side keep the third position with six games lost. Redbacks' next round opponent will be Magic (#14) in Mandurah and are hoping to win another game. Buccaneers will play on the road against Cougars (#6) in Hamilton Hill and hope to win that game.
