Date: July 15, 2017
Everything could happen in Wantirna South at the game between two tied teams. Both first ranked Knox Raiders and one of their biggest challengers Eltham Wildcats had identical 15-4 record. This time Knox Raiders used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Eltham 89-76 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in League. The game was mostly controlled by Knox Raiders. Eltham Wildcats was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized British guard Adam Thoseby (196-91, college: Georgia SW, agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and American forward Christopher Kaba (203-88, college: N.Colorado) who added 23 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Jordan Canovan responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Chris Cameron (210-82, college: La-Lafayette) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Eltham Wildcats players scored in double figures. Eltham Wildcats' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Knox Raiders maintains first position in League with 16-4 record. Loser Eltham Wildcats keep the fourth place with five games lost. Knox Raiders will face McKinnon C. (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Eltham Wildcats will play against Casey C. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
