Regular Season Round 20: Norwood F. - Sturt S. 82-51

Date: July 15, 2017
Everything could happen in Marden at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Norwood Flames and 5th ranked Sturt Sabres had identical 10-6 record. This time Norwood Flames used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Pasadena 82-51 on Saturday night. Norwood Flames looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Sturt Sabres' players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Daniel Webber (191-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Matthew Lycett (194-90) who added 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Norwood Flames players scored in double figures. Forward Jacob Rigoni (198-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international forward Jan Warbout (201-91) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Norwood Flames (11-6) moved-up to third place in League. Loser Sturt Sabres keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Norwood Flames will face Central District Lions (#9) in Gawler in the next round where they are favorite. Sturt Sabres will play at home against South Adelaide Panthers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
