Regular Season Round 20: Manly Warr. - Hills H. 88-77

Date: July 15, 2017
Not a big story in a game in Narrabeen where 8th ranked Hills Hornets (8-10) were defeated by sixth ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (10-8) 88-77 on Saturday. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Hills Hornets turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Polish swingman Stefan Blaszczynski (196-84, college: Nicholls St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Luke Cooper (183-84, college: Alaska-Anch.) who added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players scored in double figures. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Naturalized British forward Paul Brotherson (198-89, college: Metro St.) responded with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized Croatian power forward Goran Veg (205) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Hills Hornets keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will face Sutherland Sharks (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hills Hornets will play against the league's leader Sydney City Comets and hope to win that game.
