Everything went according to plan in Cotton Tree where second ranked Brisbane Capitals (10-2) beat 11th ranked Maroochydore Clippers (3-8) 93-87 on Saturday. Brisbane Capitals forced 25 Maroochydore Clippers turnovers. Strangely Maroochydore Clippers outrebounded Brisbane Capitals 44-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Maroochydore Clippers were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Aaron Anderson (178, college: N.Dakota) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 4 assists and naturalized American forward Dusty Rychart (201-78, college: Minnesota) who added 21 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Swingman Tom Fullarton (200-99) responded with 20 points and 8 assists and American guard CJ Massingale (191-82, college: Metro St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Four Maroochydore Clippers players scored in double figures. Brisbane Capitals maintains second position in League with 10-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Mackay M. Loser Maroochydore Clippers keep the eleventh place with eight games lost. Brisbane Capitals will face Rockhampton Rockets (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maroochydore Clippers will play against Brisbane Spartans and hope to win that game.
