Rather predictable result in Floreat where eighth ranked Hawks (12-11) smashed 12th ranked Giants (6-16) 98-76 on Sunday. Hawks made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Hawks outrebounded Giants 46-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Matthew Adekponya (194-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Ben Purser (201-90, college: Augusta) who added 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Hawks' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American power forward Jacob Holmen (202-91, college: N.Texas) responded with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Jerome Reid (195-96) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Hawks maintains eighth position in League with 12-11 record. Loser Giants keep the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Hawks will face Lightning (#9) in North Lake in the next round. Giants will play on the road against Magic in Mandurah and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
