Everything could happen in Wendouree at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Ballarat Miners and one of their biggest challengers Dandenong Rangers had identical 12-7 record. This time Ballarat Miners used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Dandenong 100-87 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Ballarat Miners led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Dandenong Rangers' 34. They outrebounded Dandenong Rangers 45-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ballarat Miners looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Marvin King-Davis (201-93, college: Delaware) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and New Zealand forward Leon Henry (200-85, college: S.Idaho JC) who added 12 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American forward Garrett Jackson (201-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 27 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and point guard Lucas Barker (183-93, college: Indianapolis) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dandenong Rangers' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ballarat Miners maintains second position in League with 13-7 record having just seven point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Dandenong Rangers keep the third place with eight games lost. Ballarat Miners will face Bendigo Braves (#5) on the road in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play against Frankston Blues and hope to win that game.
