Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Eltham Wildcats (15-5) defeated at home 8th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (7-13) 95-79 on Sunday. Eltham Wildcats made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. Eltham Wildcats outrebounded Diamond Valley Eagles 46-28 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Diamond Valley Eagles were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Justin Aver (190-89) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds and center Simon Bradbury (215-89) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Guard Matt Reynolds (183) responded with 24 points and American guard Raanthony Sanders (190, college: Pensacola JC) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Eltham Wildcats maintains fourth position in League with 15-5 record. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles keep the eighth place with 13 games lost. Eltham Wildcats will face Casey C. (#5) in the next round. Diamond Valley Eagles will play against the league's second-placed Ringwood Hawks in Heathmont and hope to win that game.
