Very expected game when 9th ranked Hawks (5-13) were crushed at home by first ranked Sydney City Comets (16-1) 92-70 on Sunday. Sydney City Comets dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Hawks' 30. They outrebounded Hawks 48-27 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sydney City Comets looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Louis Brandt who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and guard Sam Hyman (190, college: Mayville St.) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Sydney City Comets players scored in double figures. Guard Alexander Beagley responded with 15 points and guard Tyson Demos (191-88) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Sydney City Comets maintains first position in League with 16-1 record. Loser Hawks keep the ninth place with 13 games lost. Sydney City Comets will face Hills Hornets (#8) in Baulkham Hills in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hawks will play on the road against Spiders in Hornsby and hope to win that game.
