Regular Season Round 13: Atenas - Miramar 107-94

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Atenas (#2) and Miramar (#5). Atenas (9-2) won against visiting Miramar (6-4) 107-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Miramar. Atenas made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Anthony Danridge (196-86, college: N.Mexico) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Point guard Mauro Zubiaurre (181-94) contributed with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Atenas players scored in double figures. American power forward Jeffrey Fahnbulleh (200-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 22 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Imanol Asaravicius (193-95) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Miramar. Atenas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Sayago. Miramar at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Atenas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Miramar's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Cordon.
