Regular Season Round 25: Cimarrones - Condores 109-102

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Quibdo-Choco. Third ranked Cimarrones faced 4th placed Condores. Host Cimarrones (14-7) defeated guests from Cundinamarca (12-13) 109-102. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Condores. Cimarrones forced 22 Condores turnovers and outrebounded them 48-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Cimarrones players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Condores' players. Condores were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Edgar Moreno (190-81, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international swingman Eleutherio Renteria (194-81) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Lamar Roberson (203-86, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interlace Hoops) answered with 31 points and international forward Luis Almanza (196-91) added 15 points and 18 rebounds in the effort for Condores. Five Cimarrones and four Condores players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Cimarrones. They maintain third place with 14-7 record having ten points less than leader Fast Break. Condores at the other side keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Cimarrones will again play against Condores (#4) in Cundinamarca in the next round. Condores will have a break next round.
