Regular Season Round 11: Anhui - Shaanxi W. 113-101

The game between second ranked Shaanxi W. (7-4) and fourth ranked Anhui (7-4) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Shaanxi W. was defeated by Anhui in Anhui 113-101. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Shaanxi W.. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 57-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Anhui dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Shaanxi W.'s 52. They outrebounded Shaanxi W. 49-32 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 28 rebounds. Point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) helped adding 40 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) scored 30 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shaanxi W.'s coach ZhengXiu Jiang rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Anhui moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Shaanxi W. Anhui is looking forward to face Hebei X. (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shaanxi W. will play against Chongqing (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
