Regular Season Round 11: Lhasa - Guangxi 132-118

An interesting game took place in Lhasa where higher ranked Guangxi (6-5) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Lhasa (5-6) 132-118 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Lhasa. Guangxi was better in third quarter 33-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Lhasa won last quarter 38-26. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Lhasa outrebounded Guangxi 41-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Lhasa looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Guangxi's players. Guangxi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Dominique Johnson (192-87, college: Azusa Pacific, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import center Jonathan Kreft (213-86, college: Florida St.) helped adding 22 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). American guard Kevin Murphy (196-90, college: Tenn Tech) responded with 67 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: N.Mexico St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Five Lhasa and four Guangxi players scored in double figures. Guangxi's coach Dazong Qiu tested ten players saving starting five for next games. Lhasa moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hebei X. Guangxi at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Lhasa will face Beijing (#12) at home in the next round.
