Regular Season Round 26: Caciques - Aguilas 79-67

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Caciques (10-14) beat bottom-ranked Patriotas (5-21) in Valleduparnga 79-67 on Wednesday. Naturalized Venezuelan point guard Fernando Lucena (185-86) notched 25 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) supported him with 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Caciques' coach Bernardo Gonzalez used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) did not help to save the game for Patriotas. Jairo Pardo (-95) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Caciques maintains fifth position with 10-14 record. Patriotas lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Caciques will meet at home league's second-placed Academia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Patriotas will play against Sabios (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
