Regular Season Round 11: Jiangsu L. - Henan 119-134

NBL top team - Henan (9-2) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Jiangsu L. (1-10) in He Fei 134-119. The game was mostly controlled by Henan. Jiangsu L. managed to win third quarter 34-33. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Henan had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Henan made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) who scored 43 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Yuxing Jiang (195-95) chipped in 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Henan players scored in double figures. Henan's coach Weigang Li used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward MingYang Gao (196-88) produced 56 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American-Palestinian forward Michael Nunnally (203-86, college: Pacific) added 29 points and 21 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Henan have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-2 record. Jiangsu L. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Henan will meet at home bottom-ranked Dongbu (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Jiangsu L. will play against Luoyang and hope to win that game.
