Bottom-ranked Marne managed to get a third victory. This time they edged sixth-ranked 25 de Agosto in Montevideo 75-74. Marne players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Miami Dade CC) notched 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Santiago Pereira (180-96) supported him with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). McNeal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by forward Jorge Trindade (205-89) did not help to save the game for 25 de Agosto. Guard Nicolas Alvarez (194-92) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Four 25 de Agosto players scored in double figures. Marne (3-8) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Capitol. 25 de Agosto at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Stockolmo.
