Regular Season Round 19: Stirling S. - Willetton T. 58-78

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Tigers (13-8) crushed 4th placed Senators (15-7) in Leederville 78-58 on Friday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Senators' 28. Tigers forced 21 Senators turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for center Zoe Harper (191-88, college: Minnesota) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 8 rebounds. German power forward Jessica Hootmann (190-85) contributed with 11 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. American guard Jasmine Martin (170-93, college: Quinnipiac) answered with 22 points and the other American import forward Kisha Lee (182-85, college: UNLV) added 7 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Senators. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tigers maintains fifth place in League with 13-8 record. Loser Senators keep the fourth position with seven games lost. Tigers will face higher ranked Lightning (#3) in Bullcreek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Senators will play on the road against the league's leader Magic in Mandurah and hope to win that game.
