Regular Season Round 12: Jiangsu L. - Luoyang 107-132

Date: July 21, 2017
There was no surprise in He Fei where 13th ranked Jiangsu L. (1-11) was crushed by ninth ranked Luoyang (7-5) 132-107. The game without a history. Luoyang led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Luoyang forced 21 Jiangsu L. turnovers. The winners were led by American point guard Russ Smith (183-91, college: Louisville) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 65 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 8 steals (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and South Sudanese-Lebanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) supported him with 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Luoyang's coach Nan Huo felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field) by American-Palestinian forward Michael Nunnally (203-86, college: Pacific) did not help to save the game for Jiangsu L.. Forward Xing-Chen Wang (196-93) added 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Luoyang moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Jiangsu L. lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Luoyang's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Dongbu (#14) in Nanjin and are hoping to win another game. Jiangsu L. will play on the road against Hunan in Changsha and hope to win that game.
