Regular Season Round 2: Leones - Juvenil 92-87

Very important is a road loss of Juvenil (1-1) against Leones (1-1) on Friday night. Visiting Juvenil was defeated by Leones in a tough game in Riobamba 87-92. Leones outrebounded Juvenil 27-14 including 16 on the offensive glass. Dominican forward Reggie Charles (201-81) notched 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Venezuelan center Javinger Vargas (202-90) supported him with 30 points and 6 rebounds. Leones' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 30 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by Venezuelan Nelson Palacios (192-92) did not help to save the game for Juvenil. Venezuelan guard Jovanni Diaz (195-92) added 24 points for the guests. Leones will play against Piratas (#6) in Ibarra in the next round. Juvenil will play on the road against Portviejo (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
