There was an upset when 3rd placed Spectres (8-11) were edged by seventh ranked Lady Bandits (4-16) in East Burwood 67-64 on Saturday. Spectres were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 15-7 charge of Lady Bandits, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Spectres to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Quite impressive performance for American center Adijat Adams (188-92, college: Biola, CA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists. Stephanie Gorman contributed with 19 points for the winners. American guard Anita Brown (173, college: Akron) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and Jacqueline Trotto added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Spectres. Lady Bandits maintains seventh place in League with 4-16 record. Loser Spectres keep the third position with 11 games lost. Lady Bandits will face league's leader Lady Cobras in Kilsyth in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spectres will play at home against Tigers and hope to win that game.
