Regular Season Round 19: McKinnon C. - Eltham W. 70-75

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Wildcats' (9-10) road victory over 9th ranked Cougars (6-13) in McKinnon 75-70 on Saturday. Wildcats forced 19 Cougars turnovers. Strangely Cougars outrebounded Wildcats 46-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Wildcats players scored in double figures. American Morgan Pullins (183, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Two Points) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Ariel Thomas (168, college: Oregon) added 7 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Cougars. Wildcats maintains eighth place in League with 9-10 record. Loser Cougars keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Wildcats will face league's second-placed Sunbury in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cougars will play against Sharks (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
