Very predictable result when first ranked Spireds (14-2) rolled over 9th ranked Hawks (1-14) in Hornsby 97-57 on Saturday. Spireds forced 27 Hawks turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Spireds especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Hawks' players. Quite impressive performance for the former international point guard Alicia Poto (166-78) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals. S Waters contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Spireds players scored in double figures. Guard Georgia Ohrdorf (183-95, college: Metro St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and Olivia White added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hawks. Spireds maintains first place in League with 14-2 record. Loser Hawks keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Spireds will have a break next round. Hawks will play at home against Hills Hornets (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
