Regular Season Round 19: Willetton T. - Joondalup W. 89-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Wanneroo's (11-11) road loss to fifth ranked Tigers (13-8) in Willeton 69-89 on Saturday. Tigers made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Wanneroo turnovers. Wanneroo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard Stacey Barr (173-92, college: Idaho) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Samantha Norwood (188-89, college: Stony Brook) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Tigers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Klara Wischer (185-91, college: San Diego) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and guard Shani Amos (170-91) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Wanneroo. Tigers maintains fifth place in League with 13-8 record. Loser Wanneroo keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Tigers will face higher ranked Lightning (#3) in Bullcreek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wanneroo will play at home against Slammers and hope to win that game.
