Regular Season Round 19: Lakeside L. - Perry Lakes H. 89-67

State League round 19 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Hawks (19-2) against third ranked Lightning (16-5) 89-67 was the most important game of the last round. Lightning forced 22 Hawks turnovers. Strangely Hawks outrebounded Lightning 49-36 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ali Schwagmeyer (180-90, college: Quincy) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals. Her fellow American import forward Sydnee Fipps (178, college: Cal-Davis) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International power forward Natalie Burton (194-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Mia Satie (175-98) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hawks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lightning maintains third place in League with 16-5 record having just three point less than leader Knox R. Hawks at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Knox R.. Hawks will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Lightning will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Tigers in Willeton.
