Regular Season Round 27: Fast Break - Cimarrones 90-69

The game between Top Four teams took place in Bogota. First ranked host Fast Break (24-1) smashed 3rd placed Cimarrones (15-8) 90-69. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Cimarrones. Fast Break dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Cimarrones' 32. The best player for the winners was American guard Dermaine Crockrell (185-89, college: Bemidji St.) who scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Crockrell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Fast Break's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Venezuelan Jose Rodriguez (197-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center John Hernandez (207-84) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Five Fast Break and four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Fast Break have an impressive series of twenty four victories in a row. Newly promoted Fast Break maintains first place with 24-1 record. Cimarrones at the other side keep the third position with eight games lost. Fast Break will again meet at home Cimarrones (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cimarrones will have a break next round.
