Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Clippers (3-9) were outscored by leader Brisbane Spartans (15-0) in Cotton Tree 87-48 on Saturday. Brisbane Spartans dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Clippers' 40. Brisbane Spartans forced 27 Clippers turnovers. Quite impressive performance for center Maddie Allen (190) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Ashleigh Karaitiana (183-92, college: Hawaii) contributed with 18 points and 5 steals for the winners. American center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and Calia Hanks added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Clippers. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brisbane Spartans maintains first place in League with 15-0 record. Loser Clippers keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. Brisbane Spartans' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Brisbane to the arena Capitals.
