There was no surprise in Morley where 11th ranked Eagles (8-17) were defeated by sixth ranked Cougars (15-9) 95-88 on Saturday. Cougars forced 19 Eagles turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jalen Billups (198-92, college: N.Kentucky, agency: Haylett Sports) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) who recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Mason Bragg (182-93) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cougars moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Eagles keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Cougars will face Suns (#13) in Kalamunda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eagles will play at home against Redbacks and hope to win that game.
