Regular Season Round 27: Caciques - Academia 64-59

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Academia (17-10) against fifth ranked Caciques (11-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Academia was defeated by Caciques in a tough game in Valleduparnga 59-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Academia. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Miguel Bermudez accounted for 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Canadian point guard Tyler Murray (195-90, college: Wagner) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Gianluca Bacci (187-89) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Academia in the defeat. Caciques have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 11-14 record. Defending champion Academia keeps the second position with ten games lost. Caciques will again play against league's second-placed Academia in Montana in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Academia will have a break next round.
