Not a big story in a game in Ulverstone where 7th ranked Canberra Gunners (4-17) were defeated by third ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (12-9) 93-84 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeremiah Ingram (201-93, college: N.C.Central) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Ahmad Starks (175-92, college: Illinois) chipped in 21 points and 7 assists. Four NW Tasmania Thunder players scored in double figures. NW Tasmania Thunder's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was center Ben Allen (211-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and Glenn Morison added 24 points respectively. NW Tasmania Thunder maintains third place in League with 12-9 record having just six point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Canberra Gunners keep the seventh position with 17 games lost. NW Tasmania Thunder will face league's second-placed Ballarat Miners in Wendouree in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Canberra Gunners will play at home against Dandenong Rangers (#3) and hope to win that game.
