Regular Season Round 21: Bankstown B. - Norths Bears 79-100

There was a minor upset in Condell Park where second-best Bankstown Bruins (13-6) were outplayed by fourth ranked Norths Soul Sports Bears (12-7) 100-79 on Saturday. Norths Soul Sports Bears forced 21 Bankstown Bruins turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. Bankstown Bruins were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Dan Trist (206-92, college: Lafayette) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. James Maccann chipped in 13 points and 8 assists. Five Norths Soul Sports Bears players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Nic Pozoglou (196, agency: MKP Management) who recorded 27 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Steven Markovic (190-85) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Norths Soul Sports Bears maintains fourth place in League with 12-7 record. Loser Bankstown Bruins keep the second position with six games lost. Norths Soul Sports Bears will face Newcastle Hunters (#10) in Broadmeadow in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
